Porsche 944=old, slow, tired.

Clutch=$2500
Timing belt=$2500
Tires=$1200
Continually breaking plastic bits=$$$

So, plan on $$$$ to $$$$$$ per year. Pray the engine or tranny do not go or it could be $$$$$ to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Then, #$$%%$$#!!!!!

Japanese cars are cheaper, better, and more reliable. Porsche =$$$$$$

Clutches r usually pretty pricey, but it is rare they need a new one. And they r pretty fast, considering they r from the 80 is & early 90's.They go 135mph to 160 depending on the model.
Del sols r ok, but not very fast. Cheap to maintain compared to the 944.
l have never fancied anything built by Mazda since they all rust. Mazda just has not found a good way to rust-proof their cars. Older Rx7 is usually have rust on them or have been bondoed up. Those rotary engines use a lot of gas. Toyota Supra or Celicas r better.

It costs a lot. l think a good round number would be $2000 a year, for my 86 944 anyways, so u need deep pockets. Any misc. repair could run u a grand easily, typically u do not get away for less than $500. They have plenty of weak points which will need to be updated, as many have already pointed out. If you're cross shopping between a Porsche, Del Sol or RX-7.do not buy the Porsche. Too many nice 944s have been run into the ground because people who should not own them do, & can not take care of them.
