Hi all,
l have few question for Cayman S.
1. How can l check the engine oil. l wanna check if the engine oil is dirty or still clean.
2. How can l check the brake fluid level? If it is low then how can l refill the fluid? What kind of brake fluid should l use?
Thank you very much!

l do not know for certain, but I'd assume there is an engine oil 'dip-stick' under the hood which u may pull out to find ur oil level, just as on every other car.
And do not u dare put ANY fluid into ur Porsche unless u bought it from the dealership.
Even if it is similar type fluid & even if it turns out to be harmless, u do not want a new Porsche with a nulled warantee.
Shame.
SHAME!
l kid.
Seriously, just take ur Porsche to the dealer for a scheduled tune-up. If u can afford the car, u have to afford the maintanance.
High performance cars require high-performance maintanance.

pul the oil dip stick just like any other car should be done every month and you cant really tell by looking so just have it change. as for brake fliud you open the hood same way you walk up the driver side of car pop open the master by lifting the lid and look if there is brake fluid your ok.. for what type of fluid go to any part store and ask learning how and when do some reading

just a shot in the dark but maybe you should read the Porsche Cayenne S owners manual.

1. Open the back hatch or trunk or boot. You will see little compartments or Oil caps.
2. Follow the owners manual on when to add brake fluid and what kind to use. Most likely you can only do this at a Porsche dealer.

To check ur engine oil, open the rear hatch of the car. There is a small compartment (silver surround with carpeted middle) in front of u on the right. When u open it, u will see the coolant cap (blue) & the oil cap. Open the oil cap to see the condition of the oil. The brake fluid resevoir is in the front. Open the ''hood'' & u will see compartments in the black plastic. The brake fluid resevoir is accessed by removing the top cover on the right side.
It is unlikely that u need to add or change ur brake fluid unless there is a problem with ur brake system. If it does, unless u have over 50k miles, ur car is still under factory warranty so u can just have the Porsche service department take care of it for you. You will not be charged.
To check ur oil level, turn ur key all the way to the right without starting the car & the car will automatically measure ur oil level & give u a reading. (In the form of a bar).
Your oil change interval is 12,000 miles as the Cayman S uses Mobile one synthetic exclusively. If ur car is a 2006 or 2007, the owners manual recommends a 15,000 mile oil change interval. There have not been any changes to the vehicle for 2008 but Porsche reduced the recommended interval to 12,000 miles. Synthetic motor oil tends to look dirty but as there is little or no breakdown of the oil, u can be confident that ur oil does not need changing until the 12,000 mile interval has been reached.

If you engine oil is dirty that means it is doing its job cleaning the oil, as the elements of engine oil mean it both lubricates and cleans.
Stick to OEM Oils and Fluids, they are rated to your car for a reason.
