there seems to be a noise coming from the drivers side wheel well. What could this be?

Could be a tire rub on something hanging, or got tangled in the suspension, or you just turned the wheel too far, and its hitting on the splash shield in there.

If it is a clunk clunk clunk sound, it could be the CV joint

Ticking noise-Strut or boot.
Loud thumping noise-Strut.
Rubbing noise-Tires hitting car because wheel might be too large is it is aftermarket.

If the car has never been wrecked & u r running factory size wheels & tires, then u may have something mechanically wrong. You should not have any CV Joint noise from the front wheel if this is Rear Wheel Only Drive. l could be a bearing that is failing, but this is uncommon since Porsche typically over sizes the wheel bearings. Maybe one of the plastic pieces under the fender is out of place & rubbing the tire during a hard turn. You should be able to see any rub marks in the fender well & on the tire.

You really did not provide enough information. Is it a noise that might be from rubbing? Does the noise start gradually, then taper off when u straighten out the steering wheel, or does the noise start & stop abruptly? As was mentioned, u have no CV joints. CV joints r related only to the back wheels that r turned by axles from the transmission. Tire rub might be the culprit. You can check this by chalking the outside edges of the tire. If there is rub, the chalk will be worn off in that area when the tire contacts the edge of the fender. If that fails to show results, the front end should be looked at (control arm, tie rods, strut, etc.). If u do have tire-rub, l would certainly have the car looked at by a competent Porsche mechanic to make sure ur struts r not worn out to the point that the front end is sagging.
