l recently found a Porsche that l am interested in purchasing. its a 4 Speed Manual and the add says that the engine will crank, but not start.

what could the problem be?
ok, l re-looked through the add and he says that the owner before him said that it was the clutch. is that possible?

Could be many things, fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, computer, blown engine, etc. Ask the seller.

Could be almost anything. Need more information.

The clutch has nothing to do with this problem. The problem lies somewhere between the electronics & the fuel injectors. What the ad means is that the starter works. It will spin the engine in preparation for the injection of fuel, which is not occurring. Like l said, there r so many possibilities that it is nearly impossible to tell you. I'd suggest taking ur car to a mechanic if u want it that badly to find out the problem. If not, ask the seller what is wrong with it. If he/she can not tell u or is not willing to have the problem fixed before selling the car (for a higher price but saving u money down the road), then I'd say to forget it & look elsewhere.
