l hait to bust u chops or ur bubble. Swapping engines to a more current engine is going to cost more that what the car is going to be worth now or in the future. l think u need to start visiting some Porsche sites rather than hanging out with the V-8 boys. Increasing power in a Porsche usually takes finesse rather than brut strength. l would consider building a hot VW Bug engine & keep the 912 engine original. That way when u r done with ur fun u can return it to original. Building a hot VW is rather easy & fairly cheap. As far as cool air induction, l have not seen anything out there for a 912. There is jut no market for it. l would suggest a transmission out of a '72 or later out of a 911. They r refered to as a ''915'' Transmission, not to be confused with a car model. Your existing transmission is refered to as a 901 trans, later than the 915 is a G50 series.

You've asked this same question before, & it has been explained a few times, & unfortunately the answer has not changed! It is still not practical, & while something like a SBC V8 will give u more power, it will also change the center of gravity on the 912 to such a degree that u will be unable to take ANY turn at more than 10-15 MPH (which will be extremely disappointing when those stock 912s go through the same turn at 60mph+).

But you're not really looking for reason. so here u go:

Strip the 912 down to a bare shell. easy if u do this yourself, a few thousand dollars if u have a pro do it.

Redo the body to include factory turbo flares & the RS style front (for wider rubber & an external oil cooler). Replace the engine lid with a carbon fiber or fiberglass model that has either a duck tail or carrera tail built in (trim weight off the back).

Order some massive torsion bars, all plastic bushings, Bilstein sports for each corner, & all the Smart Racing or TRG goodies u need (Spring plates, front monoballs, & adjustable ARBs).

Add 930 brakes, rotors, & Master Cylinder. & since you're there, add a bias adjustment since the stock adjustment does not have enough brakes to the back.

Pick up some lightweight BBS race wheels, circa 1980 or so. 7x16'' front, & 10x16'' for the back. plan to get some Kuhmo V710s or Hoosiers for them.

Replace the interior with RS trim, & pick up a pair of Recaro race shells. Probably a good idea to go ahead & add 5 or 6 point harnesses & roll bar or roll cage at this point along with back bracing (to complete the safety aspects the lighter & more supportive race shells will bring with them).

Transplant a 915 transmission with the factory LSD & add the WEVO linkage, gates, & shifter.

Install a front mounted oil cooler. & then we get to the engine. Start with a 3.6 unit, but have it upgraded to the 3.8 RS piston & cylinder set. Change to a cup style airbox. Add a larger throttle body. Have custom headers & exhaust built that replicate the basic design of the early headers & factory sport exhaust, but fit to the newer engine. Install custom engine management to get the most of the engine.

And. hmmm. well, l think that is about it. This will give u a car that is ligher, stiffer, grippier, & much more powerful than u have now! A project like this will probably take quite a few months if done by professionals, alot (LOT LOT LOT) longer if handled by yourself. It will involve about $50k in parts. so with professional labor, figure u should budget at least $75k for the project.

So there u go, that is how u make a 912 down right fast! The car will have somewhere around 360-370hp, & should weigh in a little under 2000 pounds. Great power to weight, & it should have well balanced braking & suspension for that package.

The other route would be to either screw up the car & make it worthless or to sell it & buy a car that actually fits what u want. Or, even better, learn to appreciate the 912 for what it is & learn to be a good enough driver to get all u can out of the car.

Or l suppose u could also just keep asking the same question & hope that maybe someone will offer up a magic wand or something. Ortherwise u might just want to look at the you've already been given.

OK. This guy is a troll. This is the 3rd time in a row he has asked the same question. Do not encourage him by responding. Like most trolls, he is probably just a kid who does not own a car of any description.

Do not feed the trolls!

keep it stock and sell it for a mustang, or save up some heavy money and get a 911
