This will depend entirely on the specific car & how u drive it.
In terms of cars, am early 356 with it is light weight & small engine could get amazing milage, while a new 997 Twin Turbo could go through it quite quickly. Though all in all, Porsches r generally pretty good in terms of fuel economy when compared to similar cars.
The other factor will be how u drive. l have gotten as high as 31 MPG in an older 911 when on long highway trips. Yet the same car has done just under 7 MPG often at track events. The key difference being how it was being driven.
If there is a specific model u r interested in, it should be quite easy to look up (if a new car, it will be listed on the sticker, as well as published at pretty much any car site). & for older cars, the info should also be pretty readily available with a quick search.
While they may do quite well in this area though, if u r concerned about cost of ownership, this is probably not a good car to consider. While cost of ownership is generally quite reasonable, if there is a problem, it will be costly, & if u r not going to be able to handle that, the car will be more of a worry than a joy & you'd be better off waiting until you're in a better position to get such a car.

l own a Boxster with a 2.7l 6 cyl. With normal driving, l average 21 mpg (70% hwy at 75 mph & 30% suburb driving). If l drive at higher speeds, l can still get about 20 mpg under 100 mph. At over 100 mph the gas mileage suffers.
l also have a 911 (996) that gets 20 mpg on the same route. This car does not begin to really work until 120 mph, so the mileage is about the same.
Porsche designs their cars to have very little rolling resistance & the engines r precision made, so they r very efficient.

l get from 3mpg to over 24mpg dependent on how far l put the ''Fun'' peddle to the floor in my 996TT. Average to and from work l get about 20mpg on my hilly commute. In my old 1972 911 l got about 19-20 mpg on the commute.

The least fuel efficient new Porsche is the 911 Turbo with the 480HP Twin Turbo engine that gets 25mpg highway and 19mpg city.
So they are very fuel efficient cars considering a Ford Mustang GT has a 300HP V8 that gets the same gas mileage.
