Is there a good conversion ''kit etc related to converting a 3.0 to a 3.2L.

l have no choice really, as a proper rebuild on a 3.0L, seriously is 20-25K, with the new sleeves, pistons, etc. A low-mileage 84-89 Carrera engine from a wreck looks like a much better alternative, for $7-10K.

The rebuild cost u mention sounds quite high for a 911SC engine, so u may want to check around. And, another intermediate option which was a popular choice for many at one time, would be be do a rebuild to make a 3.2L CIS engine (rebuild with the crank/rods/pistons & cylinder set from the motronic engine, but retain everything else from the 911SC) - though for this, make sure the 3.2L parts come from an early engine with the Mahle Piston & Cylinders as the later Alusil r probably better left alone.

But, if u r still planning to go with a full 3.2L, including the exhaust & the DME (upgrade the oil cooler while you're at it since the later Carrera cooler is a nice upgrade over the SC Trombone. not required, but as long as you're at it, it is not much more & a little extra insurance with the new engine). there should be very little issue in getting it to fit, since the basic chasis for the two cars is the same (and the early 3.2 Carreras had the same transmission as the SC). So unlike the 3.6L swap, u should not run into sheet metal problems or needs for custom fabricated exhaust parts, etc.

Expect that items like the mounts & similar parts may need to be changed to the later versions too, otherwise, it should all work pretty well.
