i noe the top speed for the mustanh is limited to 155mph but wat would it be if it was taken out.

the cayman S goes 0-60 in 5.8 seconds

the mustang gt500 goes 0-60 in 4.5 seconds

Cayman S 0-60 5.0 sec
GT500 0-60 4.4 sec

Road course:
In my opinion would be the Cayman. 50/50 weight distribution makes it very easy to drive fast. Front engine tends to plow or understeer thru a turn.

Well like the first answer it all depends. in a straight line, the GT 500. but around a track the cayman S would defiantly out handle it therefore being faster.

ivtecpak, where do u get 5.8 seconds for the Cayman S? Porsche, like all other German carmakers, r conservative in their 0-60 mph times. They take conservative averages. In the real world, it is not unusual for people to get better times in their Porsches.

The GT500 is faster in the straights, but in the curves, the GT500 does not have a chance against either Cayman model.

The Porsche Cayman S:
295HP 6 cylinder engine. About 500 pounds lighter than the Mustang GT500. And much more aerodynamic.

The Ford Mustang GT500 has a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155mph. But some say it can reach 180mph, which is really fast for a boxy, big car like the Mustang.

If this was a racetrack with turns, the Porsche will win by more than 10 seconds eventhough the acceleration is similar. Because the Porsche Cayman is one of the best handling sportscars in the world, while the Mustang is one of the worst in handing. The Porsche Cayman S handling is so good, that it can beat Ferrari is & more powerful Porsche is on the race tracks & even the Dodge Viper.

If u take off the limiter from the GT500, the mirrors will fall off, the car will not be stable, the bumper might get loose. They limited the top speed because the car cannot handle it. If they made it strong enough to handle the speed, they would have to make it much more expensive.

The first person who answered u said the 0-60 time is 5.8 seconds. That is for the normal base model Porsche Cayman, not the Cayman S.

When the 0-60 times r reported in a magazine, those times r the best times that the magazine is test drivers can get after a number of tries. When the difference is 0.1 seconds u can pretty much assume that they r virtually similar. Chances r not only will u not know the difference, but a better driver will beat a worse one with the slower car.

All of that assumes that we're talking about ''drag racing.'' If u want to talk about anything involving turns, do not even consider the GT500. The GT500 uses a solid rear axle, which would be cutting edge technology if this was 1955. The rear suspension is so awful in the GT500 that if you're really interested in a Mustang, consider buying a Saleen. At least with the Saleen, they have ripped out the dinosaur rear end of the mustang & replaced it with an independent rear suspension. Despite having less power, the Saleen will beat the GT500 on the track. Of course, if money is no object, head to the local Porsche Dealer. There is no finer made automobile & they r made to be driven hard without breaking. If u really want to have some fun, after buying ur porsche, join PCA (Porsche Club of America), join ur local chapter & join them for some track events. Nothing is more fun than driving a Porsche on the track.
