l know it never fades but most drivers do not drive their porsches real hard so the regular brakes never really fade either right?

but the ceramic brakes are never going to give you problems, if you can get a warrenty that covers them no matter what then you should get them, the braking is much improved. But if something were to happen to them they are extremely expensive to fix, like l saw a reciept for a Mclaren SLR brakes being changed for 20K

Hi, ceramic brakes will probably outlast the car - they r very strong & r great for track use, but you're correct, they r overkill for daily driving.

Ceramic brakes r showing up on Porsches & Corvettes these days, & many owners simply take them off & use traditional brakes as they r good enough, & much, much cheaper to fix if something goes wrong.

Porsches have excellent brakes regardless of whether they r ceramic or not, so if u r looking, this is one option u can skip over. You will never experience brake fade in normal driving with a Porsche.

It depends on how much you rdrive your car.
If it will be a daily driver, then yes, it is worth it.
Also if you plane to race with it, then yes. Ceramic brakes will get your car around the track 3-5 seconds faster than regular breaks.

If you plan on driving your car only on weekends, then forget it.

There is a very definative answer to ur question. If u will take ur 911 to the track(for competition or just a fun weekend)-YES, If it will be used exclusively for street use-NO.
They r very expensive so for track use u will take advantage of ceramic brakes 2 main benefits. First, as u mentioned, the reliable, fade free operation essential on the track & second the reduced unsprung weight does increase handling & stearing feel. If the 911 will be used for commuting or weekend driving(street use) u will only be paying for the ''bragging rights'' that u have ceramic brakes. Porsche is famous for amazing brakes, ceramic or not.

the ceramic brakes are a real must have if thinking of buying a porsche.the stopping power is immense

Early ceramic brake systems in Porsches had some problems. For a used car, depending on the year, l might be concerned. Replacement parts are extremely expensive. Stopping power is much more than adequate with standard porsche brakes, on the street or on the track, for most of us.
l think the bling factor is there, and the novelty. Personally, l would not want to shell out the cash myself, unless l win the lottery.

correct, unless u r bring ur porsche to a track race day often, the regular brakes will not fade in normal driving. Brakes fade when they get to a high temp, after very frequent stops (like when u r driving on a race track). Some porsche owners do participate in club races & stuff so they would want the carbon ceramic when starting & stopping over & over when doing race track laps. But for the normal person who wants to drive around in a fast car, the normal brakes r perfectly fine.

The carbon ceramics r probably like a $5000 option anyways. Not worth it unless u legitimately drive ur car HARD
