Without the extra 20 horsepower we have to settle for the 500 HP turbo model! :(
The GTS sits between the S and Turbo models.

production of the car stopped last year, probably because of the release of the new cayenne. However, Porsche has the new Cayenne GTS coming out which is better than the Turbo S. l presume they replaced the Turbo S with the GTS model.

to some people that 20 horses make the difference.
l think because to the majority of the market did not see the need for the 20 extra horses.
so more turbos were sold.
and that decreased the turbo S models being sold.
seeing this decline.
Porsche dropped production of the Turbo S.
but Porsche did deprive those people who like those 20 extra horses(like you) their 20 extra horses.
They never can satisfy everybody.

They decided to make the Turbo model the new Turbo S model. They were not selling well with 2 Turbo Cayennes so they made one that is faster than the Turbo S and they simply called it Turbo.
The new Turbo is faster than the older Turbo S.

Give them a year or two and they will reintroduce it like they always have with the 911 Turbo, then the Turbo S.
