l am a Porsche enthusiast and have decided to go to my local Porsche dealer to either ask to test drive or have the guy just give me a ride in one of their Porsches. Do youthink they will do that?

I am 17, have a valid license, insurance, no accidents, good driver

l doubt they will let you drive it, but they will probably be able to give you a ride.

If your parents go with you, you will have a much better chance of being allowed to drive it. Especially if your parents put on like they want to buy it.

OK, this is what you do. Take a digi camera and tell them you are doing a report for school on Porsche cars. Look up info on a few of their models and tell them that you ''report'' will more likely get an ''A'' if you can take close pics of the cars. Then tell them that it will surely get an ''A'' if you can record from the passenger seat a ride in it. Offer them Chick-fil-a coupons or a dozen donuts as a way of saying thanks. Good luck.

To the person who said they will let him if he is doing a report. l tried that at age 18, and got thrown out for having a camera. Whenever l wanted to test drive cars, l used the lie that ''My dad is getting me a new car, he gave me xxxxx budget(depending on the car) and told me to go test drive it and report back.

l test drove a 335, m3, m5, 550i, sti, corvette, mustang gt, g8 gt, and a whole bunch more. God high school was fun

If you have a license and the money then they should not discriminate you from other people. The only problem l see is when you want to get some insurance on the Porsche. If for some stupid. reason they will not sell one to you, you could always go to their certified used car lot and get a low mileage Porsche 911, Cayman, Boxter, or even a 928.

Since you are not looking to buy one, a salesman would not want to spend his time with you since he could be potentially making a sale in that time.

So if you just want a ride (or even a shot at a test drive), show up when it is slow, like Tuesday afternoon, when a salesman might be more willing to spend some time with you.

l say you be honest, that you admire Porsche and were hoping to experience one.

Nope.

You need to be 21 years old to get a test drive anywhere.

Ok first c7s or what ever your name is you dont have to be 21. 2nd At 17 l test drove my cars to get them, only difference is kid l planned to buy them. Buddy its cool your a enthusiast and all but dont waste his time go work and buy one, they are an amazing car and are not going anywhere. Another thing you could do is go to your local track on sunday or find the porsche racing club near you and contact one of the members.

They do not give rides, its not an amusement park. If you can convince the salesperson you are serious about a future purchase they should have no problem letting you test drive one. Expect the salesperson to go with you after making a copy of your license but do not expect to go very far or fast.

Do what l did, l love Porsches more than anyone. When l was fifteen l got my first one. But at ur age this is what l did to test drive a 911. Go with a serious face, walk like u own the place, never lose eye contact or look down. When a salesman approaches, make a coment about the car u want to test drive. Start a small conversation (about the car). Then just go for it, tell them that for ur 18th birthday & ''your outstanding grades ur parents have agreed to buy u a sports car. The key is to sound honest & undecided, do not be desperate, say that u have been considering a M3 or something like that, mention the Porshce at the end, & that u need some comparison.
Good Luck, & dress appropiatly (First Impressions count)
