l just got a vortech super and intercooler installed on my Boxster S. No work was done on the engine to reinforce it.Do you think it would be safe to boost it up to 10 pounds just every now and then or will it be shooting parts out?

l dunno but it probably won't, you see those 911 Turbos with the 800 hp, that drive and nothing cones out. Believe me.. Do it.

For 10 psi, l would get supporting modifications like more engine mounts to protect the engine from the torque. Just incase.

For high boost like 10psi and higher, people usually get forged pistons and rods that can take more boost and power.

l think 7psi would be safe.

l think it would be best if you kept it to around 5 psi. that is still gonna give you a good boost, and your internals should handle that quite well. Typically superchargers do not need as much pressure as turbos, because they do not rely on exhuast fumes for power. You could help out your car by getting a high flow exhuast, to move that extra air out more easily.
