Great car. l came very close to getting several Porsche 944s. They handle excellently. Very balanced, friendly chassis. They can put down some good power. More modern than its year suggests. Parts r everywhere, but they r a bit expensive. They're not known as particularly reliable cars. It got slightly redesigned halfway through the 1985 model year, so look for a post 1985.5 car. If u do not mind putting the extra effort into it, it is an excellent sports car. l still would like to pick one up someday.

l have had mine (1983) For about 10 years now. It is been a great car!
Very few problems and well worth the 3k l paid. The down fall, It is expensive to have it worked on. l do all my own repairs, it is not difficult if you have a good manual.

Well, it has 1/2 a 928 engine for one. It is a wonderful car.1000% better than the abortion called the 924. The 944 does have a problem with the steering wheel, just like the 911.you will get the telltale horizontal Porsche racing stripes on ur pants, especially if u wear cords. The fit between ur thighs & the steering wheel is very snug, to say the least. There is also a sort of strange steering wheel offset on the 924 & 944, which makes u feel like u r not centered on it, rather reaching a bit to the right for a good grip. You have to have driven one to know what l mean.
