l bought my wife a 2008 Porsche Boxster with the Tiptronic automatic.When the engine warms up it always starts out in second gear. IMO that makes the car start out kind of jerky as you have little power to start and then a rush of power.Is there any way to reprogram it so it starts out in first gear?(Yes, l know you can force it using the thumb shifters and having it in manual.That is not what l am asking. What l am asking is is there any way to make it act like a normal automatic transmission that starts out in first gear?)
Funny! l sent an e-mail to Porsche Customer Service asking the same question and they gave me the same answer,talk to the local dealer.

Why do people assume l did not do that? My local dealer did not even know the transmission was programmed to start in second so of course thought it was a problem with the transmission.

that is most likely to be a technical problem, you should go to your porsche retailer for service in warranty!
