It really depends on the amount of driving u do. Since it is such a new car most owners will be tempted to go to there local Porsche dealer. However, check to see if ur area has a shop that specializes in German cars & specifically Porsches. Under normal circumstances u would want to change the oil 2-3 times a year. Remember u will need more oil than a regular car. Only synthetic of course. That alone could add up to a few hundred. If u only drove it 5k miles in one years it could be that u only spend $150 for one oil change & routine inspection. Tires will need to be replaced every few years so expect a fairly high bill for good quality tires. Fluids should be renewed on a regular basis especially if the car is sitting for long periods of times. A tune up such as replacement of the plugs, filters etc. will be required every few years. It all comes down to the amount u drive & where u take it.

Porsche recommends an oil change every 15,000 miles using synthetic oil. The oil filter also needs to be changed at the same time. Air filter every 30,000 miles. Brakes will typically last 25,000 miles under normal use. 18'' tires will last about 20,000 miles for the rear & 25,000 for the front. Rear tires r $340 each & r special tires (265/35R18 N spec). Front tires r $220 each, also N spec, but not as wide (tires from a tire shop). Brakes need to be flushed every 2 years.

Annual service is $700-800. Brakes r $400-500. If u take the car to a non-dealer repair shop, expect to save about 1/2 the price, except for tires - do not go to Porsche for tires!

It does cost a bit more to maintain compared to a ''regular'' car, but the performance & quality make it worth the extra cost. But only if u can take advantage of the performance.

Good luck & do not let maintenance costs keep u from owning a Porsche!

Very little actually.

the 996s r very very reliable. For under 2 grand u can buy a warrenty to far more miles than youll ever have the car. l highly advise this in case u ever have a big problem (basically any major part will make u out ahead on the warrenty).

Oil changes r pretty expensive (simply because they take a silly amount of synthetic oil), & tires arent cheap (but if its a street car, just get some nice, hard tires & youll be fine. Youll never need sticky tires on the street), but u only have oil changes every 15k, & tires will last u a long time if youre not a nutcase with them (like me).

l owned a 99 996 for 5 years & spent maybe 1000-2000 in maitenance, plus a few sets of tires for the whole time l owned it.

and dont listen to the guy above me. Tires will cost u that much if youre stupid & put the most expensive ones u can find on it. Unless youre going to be tracking the car, get the hardest, longest lasting tires u can buy. youll NEVER have any use for ultra high performance tires on the street (youre limited by pavement grip, not tire grip, not to mention the tires never get up to operating temp).

340 bucks a tire is about what l pay for my 315/30/18s on my GT2 rears.
