l just bought a '94 911 turbo, took it to the track with some friends. ( nsx, boxster, elise, an evilmodified sc300). we did a few laps , swapped cars, we agreed to one conclussion:. boxster is a girly car, l mean the lotus was a lot better than the boxster.

by the way, my 911 and the lotus were the only ones wearing street shoes. still, the body lean on that boxster was like driving a lincoln compared to the lotus.

l am a huge fan of Porsche but the Boxster is such a copout. In my opinion, the only people that buy them r those that want a Porsche just for the sake of being able to say that they own a Porsche. which is so wrong. They r such magnificent machines, l really think it was a mistake for them to make a model that was attainable for the masses haha.

Congrats on the purchase. Fell in love with the 911 years ago! Anything that can pull 0-60 in 3.4 seconds (stock) is good in my book.

EDIT: OK, first off what the hell is ''more superior''? What kind of grammer is that? The Boxster is a joke of a Porsche & like l said, for those who just want that emblem on their hood.

And the Lotus he was talking about, was the Elise, which is even cheaper than the Boxster, so l would not call that ''a toy for rich people''! l would rather have the Elise anyday over a Boxster.

There r plenty of forums for u to find good information about this subject. l would sudgest u try 986forums.com & rentech.com as well as pcars.com.

The Boxster is not a ''girly'' car by any means. Actually, if u want to look at it the design of the Boxster & now Cayman is more superior to that of the 911. Hence why Porsche has chosen to short change the Cayman by not giving it too much power or a LSD so that the higher paying 911 owners will not whine & cry.

The Lotus is a different beast on its own. You r trying to compare apples & orages with these two cars. The Lotus was meant as a track car. A fun toy for rich people. The Boxster was emant more for street driving with potential track driving. Try daily driving a Lotus if u dont believe me. Then do the same for the Boxster. l guarantee u that the Boxster will be better for that purpose.

If u want to look at it that way then all of the cars u mentiond r ''girly'' cars compared to the Ariel Atom which will outlap those cars around a track any day of the week.
