l am an absolute Porsche-phile, and l love so many things about Porsche's. Small things like the sound of the door closing (''Clunk''), the over comlpicated cupholders, Porsche is dedication to the rear engine layout, the 917 racing program, and the early development stories of the first 911 and 911 R. l was just wondering what other Porsche-philes love about the car, so what are the things that make Porsches special to you?

the best thing l think will be its safety
a porsche can bounce off a bullet from a shotgun!(not windows)
i saw a video on youtube and they put a porsche through hell but it still worked fine

and l love the 911 turbo's!

Several things - first, the history of the cars - for example, the 911 model line has a 40+ year history, with many racing victories - & continues a current rear-engine design, but does not prohibit inexperienced drivers from experiencing the full thrill. And, when u compare exotics, the 911 turbo is the only one that u could truly use daily. & l do! (2001). It is great in the snow, rain, beautiful when freshly washed on a sunny day - & will go for 100k+ miles with proper maintenance.

they are damn near bulletproof, have a great history, have beautiful styling and incredible performance, and are still quite unique.

plus, l just love the sound of the old air-cooled engines, when they come on cam, esp the 3.2

l think one person stated it best.

''driving in it is purest form''

For those who like to drive, it is really like a drug. Like trying to explain sex to aliens.

l love that they make something that really shouldnt work that well (the entire layout of the 911) the best sports car on the planet. They build the cars like tanks so they can take a beating and just keep on going. Theyre one of the few sports cars in history you dont have to baby.

l own a Porsche, & personally was drawn me to them was one l got a great deal on my car. Second, the atmosphere most of the enthusiasts r really great people. Third, handling. l do not really car about a drag style race, that is pure HP, u can stick a 500HP in a Honda Civic & have it beat a Porsche in a drag race. But test just about any other car against a Porsche on a twisty backroad, & you're going to have a lot more fun in the Porsche. Even day to day l make turns at 35+ without the car even tilting to one side.
Porsche is r just pure racing & handling machines!

Driving it is the best thing. The way it handles around winding curvy roads with it is low center of gravity that allows you to enter a turn fast (with the help of the 4-wheel disk brakes) while gripping the road with all four tires firmly to the ground and launching you right back out of the turn. All the while you're in the safety of a reinforced cockpit.

Can be used everyday and you do not have to worry about it breaking down.

l love the Porsche Cayman S because its the best handling Porsche and one of the best handling cars in the world. They make the cheapest and most practical mid engine cars and l like how they make rear engine cars too. They have the best turbo technology and they make some of the most advanced supercars. for half the price of a Ferrari.

When asked why l spent ''all that'' money on a my 911 -- l offer to let people drive it (okay, certain people -- some people l tell to buzz off). After 5 minutes, or 5 km, on the drive, people understand.

l just drove from Hamilton, Ontario to Southern California and back again over the past two weeks. l am ready to do it again!

What is not to love about one of these? http://forum.avtoindex.com/foto/data/media/64/porsche_carrera_4s_2006_2.jpg

l am lucky enough to own both a 1965 356C cab & a 1988 911
http://russoandsteele.com/collector_car/1988_porsche_911_carrera/5941.html With a Porsche the bottom line is l could.... l could drive along the back roads, l could drive onto a race track & do some laps, l could drive to a elegant dinner & get the front spot, l could enter a car show.

the Porsche is the never ending story filled with many chapters worth reading. When u an owner ur in the family, & we all have our opinion is as to what makes a Porsche a Porsche.

Yes l would love to own a Jaguar XKE, & in saying that l would also have to know a good mechanic to work on it also.
