l was surprised when l just test drove a tiptronic boxster & l expected to sort of be blown away in the start up (from stop) you know, (l had just driven a bmw 330 last week & it was so peppy )
and it was kind of very even and not exciting at all!

What do you think of the automatic boxsters? Is not it a little sacrilige? My sister will be driving this car when I am out of town & she insists she wants automatic, but l have my reservations.

Are they harder or more expensive to maintain? Are they more or less reliable than the manual?

thank you& hopeyou are having a nice wkend.

No it does not have much power - it is a girl car

A Porsche with automatic transmission is like a condom with training wheels. And the Boxster is totally underpowered compared to a 911; that is why it is so much cheaper.

But if your sister is going to be driving it, you might as well go for it. You can cut off the tiptronic and drive manual if you want.

Boxster really wears out tires fast. Service is expensive it is a Porsche is not it. Any nice car should be driven by one person. l never wanted my sister to drive my car when l was not looking. My Bet is the BMW because if she you have to there is a back seat. Free factory maintence built right into the price of the car.
