You're probably gonna have to take it to a garage for that. They can hook it up and find out why the light came on, and reset it.

Hi,

l would strongly recommend that u check the oil level in the engine before u continue to drive the vehicle.

Service lights r there to warn u about various system faults in the engine. It could be related to low oil level, low coolant level, & some many other sensors that will trigger the service light to come on. If u have the time l would recommend a trip to ur local Porsche dealer. If u know that the oil is due to be changed, then have it done.

As far as resetting the service engine light the dealer uses sophisticated computer equipment to trouble shout & read engine faults. This is done through the OBD I l connection which is located either on the right side or the left side under the steering wheel.

If u do not want to visit the Porsche dealer there is a device available on the market, which l use on my Porsches, called ''Actron OBDI l Auto Scanner'' Model No. CP9135, this unit plugs into the cars OBD I l socket & it will read all the fault codes from ur engines DME computer. If it is a simple fault code that u can fix, this unit will allow u to reset the light, however, if it sounds serious please do not attempt to reset the code, it is recommended that u visit ur Porsche dealer for troubleshooting the problem.

Here is the Actron site: http://amazon.com/gp/product/B00009RAX7/002-7639670-0015254?v=glance&n=15684181
