l bought a '98 boxter and was told during an inspection that the under carriage was cracked inhalf, bu it should not be a problem, was told its common in these low riding cars...at high speeds, it is fine, but on slow speeds under 25mph, it rattles and is noisy inside...Is it worth fixing small things on a '98...

Dude beware, a cracked or broken chassis is very dangerous. If it lets loose while driving it could be a handful, killing you and possibly others.

l think you should def. fix it. l would imagine that the handling will suffer greatly with a crack in the chasis..also sounds pretty dangerous
